! WARNING !
Parachuting is a high-risk activity
which may cause or result in serious injury or death
Finger Lakes Skydivers does not carry insurance of
any kind to cover you for injuries, property damage or other losses while
you are on the premises, flying in the aircraft, or skydiving.
YOUR FIRST JUMP
Finger Lakes Skydivers offers the tandem program to introduce you to the
world of skydiving. Following a short instructional session, we will fly
you to an altitude of 10,000 feet where your skydiving adventure begins.
Harnessed to your own personal instructor you will exit the aircraft and
experience the thrill of 30 seconds of free fall. After the parachute
is open, the instructor will fly you on a 5-minute ride back to the landing
area while you enjoy the spectacular view of the Finger Lakes.
WHO CAN JUMP
You must be 18 years of age or older and weigh no more than 210 pounds.
You must be in reasonable physical condition and not extremely overweight.
Skydiving does not require great physical strength, but precision and
technique. Men and women both can participate equally.
RISK
Modern equipment and training techniques have helped increase the safety
of skydiving but, like any other high adventure sport, a certain amount
of risk exists that cannot be eliminated. You must assume responsibility
for yourself, and for decisions regarding your safety. You will be required
to sign an assumption of risk agreement before you will be allowed to
participate in skydiving.
WHEN
Tandem jumps are available Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
from 8 AM to dark. Please call for reservations several days or more in
advance if possible. Last minute reservations and walk-ins will be accepted
if space is available. You should allow 2 to 4 hours to complete your
jump. Before you leave home, call to check conditions. If it is not jumpable
you may reschedule for another day. Please arrive on time and well rested
(not hungover) and no alcohol 12 hours prior to your jump. A $50 deposit
per person is required with all reservations.
WHAT TO BRING
Please dress according to the weather, you will be spending time outdoors.
Appropriate dress includes long pants, T-shirt, sweatshirt, jacket, gloves
if its cold, shorts if it's hot. Please wear sneakers. We will provide
a helmet, jumpsuit, goggles, and parachute equipment. You may bring a
camera or camcorder, your friends and lunch if you like.
VIDEO
We can capture your skydive on video. We are currently offering "Handcam"
video, where your tandem instructor will wear a video camera on his hand
and film your skydive. We can record your skydive onto a DVD. It's a great
way to enjoy your skydive over and over and share it with family and friends.
If you think you may be interested, please notify us when you make your
reservation. The cost of video $75.
